Microscopic modeling of novel material's and heterostructure's electronic and optical properties

Abstract:In my talk, summarize my research on distinctly different
systems regarding their electronic and optical properties. A common
motivation of the research on the different systems was a lack in the
theoretical characterization of them, which hindered their use in mature
technologies. The systems ranged from multinary-semiconductor based
quantum-well heterostructures, over disordered organic solids to
multiferroics. I will briefly introduce their technological relevance
and talk about which theoretical approaches I used to generate missing
insights.
