Multicomponent single crystal materials for solid state lasers (Multi-Crystal-Laser)

Abstract

The aim of the project is to improve the properties of the active environment Nd: YAG and Sm doped crystal to suppress the amplified spontaneous emission. This main goal is supported by the development of key processing technologies (polishing of faces, radius polishing, facet grinding) and the development and automation of related measurement methods of polarization, extinction ratio, neodymium concentration gradient in crystals and LIDT measurements. In the SWIR area, the project is focused on improving the properties of thulium and holmium doped single crystals and researching a completely new multi-component material. The project also includes a Q-switched laser resonator designed for application in SWIR detection for automotive and research of new material for Q-switched laser.
