Advanced techniques of visualization of dactyloscopic traces

Abstract

The project is focused on the development of advanced devices and methods for the visualization of latent fingerprints using vacuum technologies on non-porous materials. The unique device will enable easier handling of objects used in crime. Simultaneously, a new method of visualization of fingerprint using electrochemically deposited thin polymer layers on problematic metal surfaces will be developed. It is especially useful for cartridges, which are widespread in crime. In principle, both the devices and the methods will simplify to identify individuals on the basis of easily visible fingerprints even after a longer application period and therefore can have global significance today. The project promotes cooperation between research institutions and the Czech police.
