Postdoctoral Researcher – Magnetism in Thin-Film Materials

We are seeking a motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join our research program in experimental magnetism and thin-film materials synthesis. The researcher will work with the Rare-Earth and Actinide Science Research Group | FZU.

What will you do

  • The successful candidate will contribute to investigations of magnetic and electronic properties of functional materials, with particular emphasis on the relationship between composition, structure, and functional properties.
  • The researcher will contribute to the preparation and optimization of thin films, magnetic and physical-property measurements, analysis and interpretation of experimental data, and development of new research directions.

What do we expect  

  • Ph.D. in Physics, Materials science, or a related field
  • Experience with thin-film synthesis by physical vapor deposition and/or vacuum-based experimental techniques
  • Experience with magnetic characterization and physical-property measurements
  • Experience with structural characterization is an advantage
  • Ability to independently analyze and interpret experimental data
  • Good publication record appropriate to the career stage
  • Good command of written and spoken English
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within an international research team
