PhD. students and postdoctoral fellows in Biophotonics

FZU is a leading public research institution located in Prague, the Czech Republic, where it strives to pursue high quality and ground-breaking fundamental research and to stimulate its follow up translation to applied innovative technologies. FZU is the largest institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences with more than 1100 employees.

Research Programme

The newly established research group Biophotonics at FZU department of Optical and Biophysical Systems, Division of Optics has several PhD and postdoc positions open. It offers an access to newly established modern state-of-the-art research facilities for studies in optical nanobiomaterials and their implementation to novel optical biosensor and spectroscopy tools. New co-workers are granted with creative freedom to explore novel solutions and emerging research directions in environment stimulating their scientific carrier development.

The open research projects are aligned with topics of newly acquired international grants and industry collaborations. They relate to research in novel methods for the ultrasensitive analysis of biomolecules and their interactions and for sensitive and rapid detection of harmful compounds and biomarkers, with the relevance to important fields of diagnosis of diseases, personalized medicine, and environmental monitoring. We search for strengthening our team with members bringing in skills in design and optimizing optical instruments, nanophotonics, biointerface architectures, assay development and biomolecular interaction studies that are preferably combined with experience in optical spectroscopy and microscopy.
