Technology Agency of the Czech Republic (TACR)
- The Technology Agency redistributes financial support from the national budget. Its main role is to prepare programmes that support applied research, development and innovation as well as cooperation between industry and research organisations. Several programmes are active: Beta 2, Beta 3, Sigma, and Water4All.

Czech Science Foundation (CSF)
- Czech Science Foundation supports fundamental research across all science areas. Each year several dozens of postdoctoral and experienced researchers are funded to pursue projects of their choice. The calls of CSF are designed as bottom up to endorse frontier science. The STANDARD projects are awarded for three years, while the prestigious EXPRO and JUNIOR STAR enable researchers to sustain their groups for five years. CSF also funds bilateral and multilateral projects within the CEUS initiative of the science foundations of Austria, Poland, Slovenia and projects with selected partner organisations such as (Germany, Korea, Taiwan, Brazil, Russia, Switzerland). In addition, CSF financially supports secondments of the JUNIOR grant holders in the groups of ERC grant holders in Europe.
- The calls are published annually at the end of February beginning of March and remain open for the following six weeks.
Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (MEYS)
- MEYS supports a wide range of research projects, particulary international bileteral and multilateral basic research initiatives involving Czech applicants. It also facilitates their participation in international partnerships (EIG Concert Japan, QuantERA). Most relevant MEYS programs fall under the Inter-Excellence II program. The most commonly utilized programs include: Inter-action, Inter-cost, EIG Concert Japan.
- The main EU-funded programme managed by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (MEYS) for 2021–2027 is the Programme Johannes Amos Comenius (OP JAK / P JAC). P JAC funds large projects designed to enhance the research, academic, and innovation environment in the Czech Republic, often via funding CZ research projects funded in Horizon Europe competitions. Notable calls include: MSCA Fellowships CZ, Teaming-CZ and other grants.
- MEYS also supports international research exchange through its MOBILITY programme, designed to enhance scientific cooperation between Czech and foreign institutions. The scheme funds bilateral researcher exchanges, typically over a two-year period, covering travel and accommodation costs.
Ministry of Industry and Trade (MIT)
- The Ministry of Industry and Trade (MIT) implements the Operational Programme Technology and Applications for Competitiveness (OP TAK 2021–2027) to support innovation in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), with a strong emphasis on cooperation with research organizations.
- Research institutes and academic organizations can participate as project partners of SMEs, especially in activities focused on the application of research results and faster technology transfer to industry.
- Calls are announced continuously throughout the year.
Ministry of Finance (MoF)
- The Ministry of Finance is the coordinator of EEA and Norway funds that support bilateral cooperation and science with Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway. It prepares calls together with the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic and other state institutions.
- New calls for research collaboration will be published in spring 2026 at the earliest.
