The Glovebox Labstar with 4 gloves is equipped with an internal cleaning circuit to keep the moisture and oxygen content in the internal nitrogen atmosphere below 1 ppm. Under these conditions, it provides the necessary environment suitable for all preparatory work related to the technology of preparation and refining of highly hygroscopic materials (halide salts) and the growth of their single crystals by micro-pulling-down method and vertical Bridgman method. The Glovebox is equipped with analytical balances, an internal vacuum cleaner and a nitrogen blower to support / facilitate this work. The glovebox also allows processing samples of hygroscopic materials (single crystals, glasses) enabling their cutting, grinding and polishing for their subsequent characterization.
