Preparation of ceramic and single crystal materials from the group of sesquioxides and multicomponent garnet oxide and fluoride materials, undoped and rare earth doped. Characterization of their optical, luminescence and scintillation parameters, comparison with commercial materials and application standards. Study of basic physical aspect of the energy transfer and storage in scintillation mechanism and the role of specific defects in it.
