Abstract
Project ‘Sensors and Detectors for Information Society’ (SenDiSo) brings together several distinct research fields yielding truly interdisciplinary ambitious research program. It aims to deliver next generation class of tools serving in life science research as well as to push forward applications in rapidly advancing medical diagnostics, medical therapy, environmental monitoring, and quality control in industry. The core of the proposed agenda resides in the development of physical transducers as well as physical methods for the preparation of advanced materials that open doors for the development of novel detector and chemi/biosensor solutions. Such physics domain[1]oriented basis is complemented by research in dedicated thin films and nanostructures that are sensitized to the presence of specific type of radiation or chemical and biological species present in atmosphere or complex biological fluids rounding the strong overlap with materials research and (bio)chemical sciences
