Kinetics of formation of new phase nuclei on active centers


In the presented project we will deal with the formation of a new phase on active centers from the supersaturated mother phase. Kinetic equations describing such a process with modified boundary conditions, including exhaustion of active centers and depletion of the mother phase, will be solved numerically. Basic characteristics of nucleation process - the size distribution of nuclei, nucleation rate, time delay, and the total number of nuclei will be compared with experimental data for various concrete systems: nucleation from solution in microemulsions, polymer crystallization, and nucleation of droplets from the supersaturated vapor.
