Exploration of new for particle acceleration using petawatt laser

Abstract

We intend to use the top-class 1.5 PW (44 J, 30 fs), 0.1 Hz laser beamline available at UQBF of APRI-GIST to perform laser wakefield electron acceleration experiments in the so called blow-out regime (self-injection) with the main goal to optimize the experimental parameters for the generation of a highly stable source of electron beams which can be used for future applications, e.g. for generating a secondary sources such as X-rays or gamma-rays.
