Fabrication of porous boron-doped diamond on SiO2 fiber templates

Perex

The future trend in diamond electrochemistry is the use of nanostructures and porous layers. This paper describes two new fabrication methods of porous boron-doped diamond thick layers developed in the MNB group and compares their electrochemical properties. The process enabling fabrication of thick porous boron doped diamond layers has applications in electrochemical water treatment or sensing.

Description
Researchers in the MNB group have developed and patented a process that allows the fabrication of several 10s of micrometres thick porous diamond layer based on silica fibre templates. This new material, which absorbs liquid like a sponge, has potential applications in electrochemistry (water treatment, chemical sensor) and biology (cell growth)
