Biological effects of non-thermal plasma

Plasma medicine is a rapidly growing field of research in physics, chemistry, engineering and life sciences with broad applications in medicine. The use of low-temperature atmospheric plasma devices in clinical practice requires operating regimes that can be easily controlled and adjusted during treatments. However, for chronic wound treatment with Ar plasma, so far only a few clinical studies have been started. Therefore, to address the most demanding challenges in medicine, we aim to understand basic biophysical mechanisms that predispose plasma-cell interactions.
