Biomolecular and cell interactions with biofunctional interfaces in native environments represent a a timely topic that has been researched worldwide. The results achieved from the study of surface-biomolecule (or cell) interactions in biological media may have a high impact on development of various biochip and biosensor technologies for various biomedical applications. The experimental methods employed in this PhD study will include spectroscopic ellipsometry, infrared and Raman spectroscopy, confocal microscopy, SPR, QCM, etc. I tis expected that the experimental approaches will be combined with theoretical predictions. The PhD study will involve addressing specific tasks from different disciplines including material science, biophysics, polymer chemistry or biology. During this PhD study, an intensive collaboration with high-profile research institutions both in the Czech Republic and worldwide is expected.
