Fast detectors for harsh operating conditions (FROST)

Abstract

Proposed project will be solved in consortium of CRYTUR Ltd., Institute of Physics of CAS and Faculty of biomedical engineering of CTU in Prague. Its goals are new products: fast scintillation single crystals and detectors of ionizing radiation for harsh operating conditions. It means materials and detectors for applications with high level of radiation, as monitoring of industrial processes with charged particle beams and interactions in laser and particle experiments (high energy physics) . Materials and detectors for environments with high temperature, as geophysical measurements and mining industry, will be developed too. Common aspect is requirement for high radiation resistance and fast scintillation decay with characteristic time of the order of tens of nanoseconds.
