The Optical Spectroscopy group deals with the characterization of semiconductor (nano)structures. The main focus of the work is the use of luminescence and Raman spectroscopy methods to study the properties of semiconductor materials. The group uses an electron microscope equipped with a cathodoluminescence measurement system. Photocurrent measurements are also available.

The material systems studied include mainly nitride heterostructures (quantum wells, core-shell microwires), 2D materials (hBN, MoS2), nanoparticle composites (ZnO, CsPbBr3) and rare earth ions in glass matrices.
