Scanning probe light microscopy group

Text

The experimental team has been established in 2019 to pursue a new line of competitive research. We combine ultra-high vacuum low-temperature scanning probe microscopy with optical spectroscopy to investigate fundamental physical properties of single molecules and their assemblies, interfaced with solid-state materials. Our core activities rely on tip-enhanced optical spectroscopies to follow these lines of research:

- Investigation and control of luminescence on single molecules and their clusters

- Single-molecule Raman spectroscopy, vibrational mode mapping inside a molecule

- time-resolved electroluminescence

- Proof-of-concept single-molecular devices

- Mechanical, electronic and vibronic properties of molecules

- Correlation of luminescence with high-resolution STM/AFM imaging

- Interaction of individual molecular species and their clusters with novel 2D materials
