Influence of an Anomalous Phase Coherence Length on the Conductivity of Magnetic Topological Insulators Mn :Bi2Se3

Recent theory on magnetically doped topological insulators predicts that quantum corrections Δκ to the temperature dependence of conductivity can change sign across the Curie transition [PRL. 112, 146601 (2014)]. The change is attributed to a suppression of the Berry phase of the topological surface state, caused by a magnetic energy gap. We demonstrate that a sign change can appear at a constant Berry phase and resolve contradictions by extending theory to a nonmonotonic temperature scaling of inelastic scattering lengths showing a turning point at the Curie transition.
