Department of Cosmology and gravitational physics

Summary

Our work is driven by fundamental questions in cosmology and gravity, such as how the Universe came into being, what are the matter constituents, what was the role of gravity both at the early and late stages of cosmic expansion, and what is the nature of the dark sector which makes up most of the content of the Universe according to the standard picture.

Text

Our research programme spans a wide range of topics in cosmology and gravity, from cosmological phenomenology and model testing with cosmological observations, cosmology of the late Universe and formation of cosmic structures, Early Universe cosmology, dark matter, dark energy, cosmic rays, gravitational waves, quantum field theory applied to cosmology and gravity, and lastly, various aspects of the theory of gravity – both General Relativity and its various extensions and well as theories describing the dark sector.
