How many nanometers does your hand measure? Why does nothing stand still in the nano- level world? And what does atomic force microscopy allow us to do? You can find all this and much more in the comic book Secrets of the Nano- World!

We're bringing you a comic book about nanotechnology, its history and how the world works at the nano-scale!

The educational comic book Secrets of the Nano- World is intended primarily for pupils of secondary schools and high schools. Its protagonists are two high school students Sofie and Alex, who mysteriously find themselves in the past during their internship - at the very end of 1959 at the time of Richard Feynman's lecture that essentially launched the field of nanotechnology. And it is the famous scientist who is drawn into trying to help Alex and Sofie get back to their own time. To do so, however, they'll need considerable knowledge of the world in the nano- dimensions...

Secrets of the Nano- World introduces students to the scales of the nanoscopic world versus our macroscopic world, a fly-through of the history of nanotechnology, the atomic force microscopy method, and more. Let's see: how many nanometers does your hand measure? And did you know that nothing stands still at the nanoscale?

The concept and storyboard were developed by Julie Nekola Nováková, the comic book was drawn by Vojtěch Šeda, and Prokop Hapala served as an expert advisor.

The creation of the comic book was supported by the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic (Programme of Support for Presentation of Science and Research).
