The article shows how physical and chemical processes in laser plasmas are interrelated in gaseous sulphur hexafluoride. Special cuvettes containing no metallic components made it possible to measure the electromagnetic emission of plasma without any external influence. The results are significant not only for the fundamental physics and chemistry of laser plasmas, but also for development of processes for the effective decomposition of the strong greenhouse gas of artificial origin.
Description
An experimental setup in which 125-J subnanosecond pulses of near-IR laser radiation generate large laser sparks in SF6, whose emissions are monitored by various diagnostic instruments covering spectral ranges from ultraviolet to radiofrequency.
