The study presents extensive interdisciplinary research on the potential use of an acoustic biosensor with antifouling nanocoating for rapid and effective detection of the SARS-CoV-2 virus in complex samples. Validated with 482 swab samples from Prague's public transportation during an epidemic wave, results showed over 98% agreement with PCR method. The study demonstrated the significant potential of the biosensor as an efficient supplementary tool for monitoring epidemics in public spaces.
