Oleg received his Ph.D. in Molecular Medicine from Ulm University, Germany, in 2011. Following this, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Pharmacology at Ulm University until the end of 2013. His research during this period focused on the impact of nanomaterials on the function of innate immune cells. In 2014, Oleg began his independent research career at the Institute of Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences (FZU) in Prague. In 2017, he was appointed head of the Laboratory of Biophysics. His laboratory is dedicated to understanding how physical factors, such as mechanical forces and nanomaterials, influence the processes that drive cell behavior and functionality.

Since joining FZU, Oleg has been recognized with several prestigious awards, including the Purkinje Fellowship in 2014 and the Otto Wichterle Award from the Czech Academy of Sciences in 2019. He supervises Ph.D. students in the “Biophysics, Chemical, and Macromolecular Physics” program at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, as well as the “Biochemistry and Pathobiochemistry” program at the First Faculty of Medicine, Charles University. Additionally, he serves as an editorial advisor for multiple scientific journals.
