The 55th edition of the Journées des Actinides (JdA 2026) was held on 14–17 April 2026 in the historic town of Český Krumlov, Czech Republic. The conference was organized by Evgenia Chitrova (Institute of Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences, FZU) together with Ladislav Havela (Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University, MFF).

JdA is a long-standing international conference series dedicated to actinide and f-electron science. For more than five decades, it has provided a unique interdisciplinary forum bringing together physicists, chemists, materials scientists, and experts in nuclear science to exchange ideas, discuss recent discoveries, and establish new collaborations.

The 2026 edition gathered researchers from across Europe, Asia, and North America and featured a broad scientific program spanning both fundamental and applied aspects of f-electron research. Topics covered included correlated 4f and 5f electron systems, unconventional superconductivity, magnetism, quantum criticality, chemistry of f-elements, thin films and interfaces, advanced spectroscopy, and nuclear materials.

Beyond the scientific program, participants appreciated the unique atmosphere of Český Krumlov and the historic setting of Hotel Růže, which fostered informal discussions, interactions, and new international collaborations throughout the meeting.
