Abstract
The project aims at the development of chemiresistor sensors for hydrogen detection. Recent developments in hydrogen storage technologies imply the need for hydrogen gas sensors. The hydrogen gas sensor efficiency can be strongly improved by coating a high roughness black metal film onto the surface. Palladium is an excellent metal choice for hydrogen absorption which can be used specifically for hydrogen sensor applications. Palladium/Platinum nanoparticles will be synthesized by pulsed laser deposition in liquid and black metal films will be deposited by PVD techniques. The Pd nanoparticles will then be deposited onto the sensor aiming for increased performance in chemiresistant hydrogen detection.
