Deformation mechanism in NiTi memory alloys at elevated temperatures

Text

The systematic research of thin NiTi fibres using thermomechanical tests at the Department of Functional Materials as complemented in-situ by studies using X-ray and neutron radiation; transmission electron microscopy; and mechanical modelling resulted in three extensive works published in Progress in Material Science and International Journal of Plasticity. These works introduce a new deformation mechanism activated in NiTi materials at elevated temperatures.
