Alicia Calé, MSc.

Alicia holds a Master’s degree in Health Engineering and Material Chemistry from the University of Bordeaux in France. Currently, she is pursuing a Ph.D. in Biophysics at Charles University in Prague within the Laboratory of Biophysics. Her research centers on exploring the complex interplay between the cellular environment and human cell behavior, with a particular emphasis on how various physical factors influence cellular functionality.
In her work, Alicia employs a range of advanced techniques, including cell culture, confocal fluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry, quantitative PCR (qPCR), and immunoblot analysis. These methods allow her to investigate how external and internal mechanical forces, among other physical stimuli, can alter cellular metabolism and the functioning of organelles. Her goal is to uncover the underlying mechanisms by which these factors affect cell behavior, with potential implications for understanding disease progression and developing novel therapeutic strategies.
