The spectrometer was built and developed in the laboratory and it is based on two-color plasma emission and ABCD detection scheme. It is pumped by femtosecond optical regenerative amplifier Spitfire (Spectra Physics). The peak field of a multi-THz pulse is 120 kV/cm giving access to THz nonlinear optics.
