Researchers' Night 2025 at FZU attracted a record number of visitors

Date of publication

On the last Friday in September, Researchers' Night attracted more than 1,400 physics enthusiasts of all ages to the Institute of Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences. The FUN ZONE was the busiest, where children could see a levitating train that defies gravity, develop their creativity by building with Lego bricks in LEGO Build the Change, try out the principle of an atomic force microscope by building with Lego bricks while wearing gloves, make their own kaleidoscope or bracelet from scintillation beads, or use diffraction glasses to see the decomposition of light into its individual components.

More curious visitors had the opportunity to peek into otherwise inaccessible areas during excursions to the liquid crystal laboratory, electron microscopy laboratory, server room, or optical laboratory. The rich program was complemented by a panel on the physics of the future and a talk about fun physics errors in films.

In addition to the immediate reactions from children, Researchers' Night at FZU also received coverage in the media and on social networks.

We would like to thank all visitors and colleagues from FZU who participated in Researchers' Night 2025, and we are already looking forward to next year!
