On 10 February 2026, we welcomed a visiting scientist, George Kostakis from the School of Life Sciences, University of Sussex, who delivered a seminar entitled Chemical Chartographisis in Catalytic and Biological Related Examples.
The lecture introduced the concept of chemical chartographisis as a complementary synthetic approach based on the systematic use of compositional parameters and on correlating topology (structure) with the resulting properties of the prepared compounds.
The seminar offered an inspiring perspective on the interplay between coordination chemistry, catalysis, and bioinorganic applications, and stimulated discussion across the department’s research topics.
