On January 27, 2026, the Research, Development and Innovation Council (RVVI) held an annual conference at the Institute of Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences (FZU) dedicated to the evaluation of research organizations according to the 2017+/2025+ Methodology. The conference took place after the completion of another round of national evaluation and also included the sharing of experiences from the ongoing evaluation of the research activities of the Czech Academy of Sciences' workplaces.
The conference provided an opportunity to share experiences from both institutional and national levels. After the opening ceremony, FZU Director Michael Prouza outlined the internal and external evaluation processes at FZU. Subsequently, Petr Štěpnička, the main coordinator of the evaluation, presented an update of the Evaluation Methodology and reflected on the evaluation of research organizations within the H24 evaluation, with an emphasis on changes in the updated methodology and evaluation results.
The next part of the program was devoted to news in evaluation at the national level from the perspective of coordinators and members of evaluation structures. Attention was also focused on the evaluation of the research and professional activities of the Czech Academy of Sciences in an international context, including the basic principles and experience gained with this process to date.
The afternoon session featured specific practical examples, such as experience with evaluation within operational programs or with the assessment of applied results in technical sciences. The conference concluded with a panel discussion focused on the interdisciplinary specifics of research evaluation. Discussants from expert panels, the Czech Academy of Sciences, and other institutions addressed different approaches to evaluation across disciplines and possibilities for further development of evaluation methods.
