Abstract:
Hirsch has recently asked several questions about the dynamics
of magnetic field expulsion from the interior of a type-I superconductor, which, according to him,
the conventional theory of superconductivity can not answer. In this talk, I will try
to refute his claims. In doing so, I will show that the dynamics of the Meissner effect
and of the Becker-London effect (magnetic field generation inside a rotating superconductor)
is quite rich and interesting even at the simplest possible level of description.
