Activities

Department of diode pumped lasers deals with technological development of a new generation of high power, high repetition rate diode pumped solid state lasers (DPSSL). This emerging technology offers compact dimensions, very high efficiency (tens percent) and high repetition rate (kHz). In particular, we develop kW-class lasers based on thin disk technology for industrial and medical applications, as well as high-energy (100 J) lasers based on cryogenic multislab amplifier scalable to 1 kJ for applications in research projects of inertial fusion. Another activity is the application of ultrafast, coherent XUV beamline based on high-order harmonic generation, e.g. for efficient machining and nanostructuring of materials, and multilayer X-ray optics metrology.
