CERN Director General in Prague

On 29th September it will be 60 years since the world's biggest particle physics laboratory, CERN was founded. On this occasion, CERN Director-General Professor Rolf-Dieter Heuer, arrived in Prague on a two-day visit. In the tight schedule prof. Heuer also found time to visit the Academy of Sciences. He met with the President of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic (ASCR) Prof. Jiří Drahoš. During this meeting the CERN Director-General appreciated the cooperation with Czech experts, among them there are more than 90 members of the Institute of Physics ASCR.

Stay of Prof. Heuer culminated in a lecture entitled "CERN - 60 Years of Science for Peace" on September 8th, 2014 at 5 pm in the lecture hall "Collegium Maximum" of the Faculty of Law of the Charles University.
