XXVI Czech-Polish Seminar on Structural and Ferroelectric Phase Transitions

Text

It is our pleasure to announce that the  XXVI Czech-Polish seminar on Structural and ferroelectric phase transitions takes place from 4th to 8th May 2026 in Milovy, Czech Republic.

The conference series is organized in collaboration of the Department of Dielectrics of the Institute of Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences and the Department of Low Temperature Physics, Quantum Materials and Technologies of the Institute of Molecular Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences. The biennial event is an international forum for presenting recent results, unconstrained discussions, and initiating joint studies. It results not only in scientific integration but also in close cooperation and friendship. It usually brings together about 100–120 participants in a proportion: approximately one third from the Czech Republic, one third from Poland, and one third from other countries.

Thematical scope:

  • Ferroelectric and structural phase transitions
  • Dielectric and microwave properties, THz and IR spectroscopy
  • Liquid crystals and polymeric liquid crystals
  • Structural and microstructural properties
  • Inelastic light and neutron scattering
  • Domains and domain boundaries
  • Ferroelectric thin and thick films
  • Nanomaterials and size effect
  • Piezoelectrics and pyroelectrics
  • Relaxor ferroelectrics
  • Multiferroics
  • Ionic conductors
  • Applications
