Anisotropic quench switching of antiferromagnet CuMnAs using THz readout

Abstract: Spintronics offers a promising path toward faster and more energy-efficient electronics. Among antiferromagnetic spintronic candidates CuMnAs stands out due to its capability for ultrafast optical manipulation of its magnetic structure. One such process, quench switching, involves the breaking of magnetic domains upon absorption of an ultrashort optical pulse, and is highly sensitive to structural imperfections introduced during the film growth.
