  • Theoretical description of STM/AFM techniques (manipulation, dissipation, tip-sample interaction, conductance)
  • Development of a fast local basis set TB-MD-DFT code FIREBALL.
  • Implementation of Time-Dependent Schrodinger equation in DFT framework.
  • Transport processes in nanostructures and at surfaces (Keldysh Green's function approach).
  • First principles simulations of the mechanical and electrical properties of metallic nanocontacts.
  • Study of dynamical processes and phase transition on semiconductor surfaces (eg. SiC(100), Pb/Si(111)) using combination of kinetic Monte Carlo method and first principles methods.
